On May 24, 1962, astronaut Scott Carpenter orbited Earth three times on NASA’s Mercury-Atlas 7 mission. On his wrist was a one-of-a-kind Breitling Navitimer—custom-built for space. At his request, it featured a wider bezel for gloved hands, a stretch-metal bracelet to fit over his spacesuit, and most crucially, a 24-hour dial. Now, to mark the centenary of Scott Carpenter’s birth, Breitling presents the Navitimer B02 Chronograph 41 Cosmonaute Scott Carpenter Centenary. Cased in platinum, it’s a tribute to one of the great names in space exploration.
