The Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Dark Side of the Moon Apollo 8 was introduced at BaselWorld 2018. It features a ceramic case paired with a Lemania-1873 based movement, which is first for the brand. This 44.25 mm model celebrates the close connection between the Speedmaster and the moon with a blackened movement that has been laser-etched to resemble the lunar surface. The near side can be seen through the blackened skeletonized dial, and the far side through the case back. The entire watch, which comes on a perforated black leather strap with a yellow rubber inner side, is made of black ceramic and also features yellow-lacquered chronograph hands and a tachymeter scale with Super-LumiNova.

OMEGA is a company of the Swatch Group, the world’s leading watch manufacturer. Iconic models include the Seasmaster, Speedmaster, De Ville and Constellation. Originally founded in La Chaux-de-Fonds in 1848, but using another name, Omega SA has grown to be one of the world’s most well-known and beloved watch brands. It formally adopted the name Omega in 1903 as Omega Watch & Co., but its watches have been distinctive from the start. Thanks to its pioneering spirit, OMEGA was the first watch worn on the moon, and it has enjoyed many other accomplishments and explorations in the ocean and in space. OMEGA has been the Official Timekeeper of 30 Olympic Games since 1932 and is also a leading name in golf, swimming, athletics, bobsleigh and sailing. Today, OMEGA's family of brand ambassadors includes James Bond, George Clooney, Nicole Kidman, Eddie Redmayne, Daniel Craig, Cindy Crawford, Michael Phelps, Rory McIlroy, Sergio Garcia, Buzz Aldrin and many more.
