The Patek Philippe Golden Ellipse Ref. 5738R-001 was introduced in 2008 to mark the 40th anniversary of this emblematic Patek Philippe model. Its case, still based on the Golden Ratio, was increased in size to 34.5 × 39.5 mm. For the first time it was offered in platinum. Reference 5738R-001 was added to the collection at the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Ellipse in 2018. It features a rose gold case and a black dial.
