Day-Date 36

The Rolex Day-Date 18038 was the first DD to be equipped with sapphire glass. It's movement now had a quick-set function for the date; it is generally referred to as the 'single quick'. The example posted has a yellow gold body and bracelet plus a dial that comes in various color variations. Launched in 1956, the Day-Date was the first watch to display both the day and date through an aperture in the dial. Rolex has never shied away from being associated with influential figures, including a number of presidents, which is how this model earned its nickname. With a diameter of 36mm, the reference 18038 was produced between 1977 and 1989.
